Violin Loteria Card

The project began as a final portfolio assignment in the santa monica college photography department and evolved into collaboration between julie crow and greg goyo vargas of los angeles photo department.

I became interested when someone here on the boards posted about them and after getting a deck i did a tiny bit of research online and came up with the riddles associated with each card. Loteria encanto is a photographic recreation reimagining of a card deck known as mexican bingo. Not a divination system. Each player has at least one tabla a board with a randomly created 4 x 4 grid of pictures with their corresponding name and number. Each player choose what tabla they want.

I am posting the ones i know of along with my interpretations of what the cards might mean in a reading. This is a reproduction of my original art. You can choose a print that measures 5 x 7 8 x 10 or 11 x 14. There are little riddles or sayings that go with each card.
